Larry Persily has been confirmed by the U-S Senate as the new federal coordinator of Alaska gas pipeline projects.
The U-S Senate moved Persily’s name by unanimous consent this evening.
Senator Begich applauded Persily’s confirmation in a press release… he said the White House has indicated that President Obama wants to elevate the coordinator’s office into his executive office to advance an Alaska gasline project.
Both Alaska’s Senators supported the President’s choice of Persily. Senator Lisa Murkowski shepherded him through the hearing process as the top Republican on the Energy Committee.
Persily will now relocate to Washington from Juneau, where he currently works as a legislative aide to state Representative Mike Hawker.
